Promises Kept is an account written by financial advisors themselves about their work with certain clients. Clearly good news doesn’t sell. If you’re walking by a newsstand and saw a magazine that said everything is okay youre not going to buy it. If you see a headline, and it says “Learn the Five Ways You’re Getting Ripped Off by Your Financial Advisor” you might spend a couple of bucks to buy that magazine.
So bad news sells, good news doesn’t and so it never gets the media’s attention, but its really enriched peoples lives by what honest and ethical financial advisors do for a living, whether it be bringing a check to a widow that can stay in her home and send her kids to college, to another advisor who would bring a check to a business owner so the business can stay in place and the employees can keep their jobs all the way to paying medical bills or long-term care nursing home or assisted living expenses so that the surviving spouse doesn’t have to go on welfare and move in with her kids.
There are a lot of good things that are being done and people need to know about it. They need to know and understand how these products work and how good financial advisors help people.
